How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

There was a variety of strengths and weaknesses related to my production in this task. It took a lot of skill to do these tasks and to also fulfil them to a successful stage.

Firstly, The webpage was fairly straightforward to do, there was some features that had to be analysed because it was quite difficult using the software. However, putting the images in place and also the text was good as i felt it was done successfully. I had to use a lot of skills and features to make the website look like a high standard website. I also had to choose appropriate colours to represent the theme of the soap opera. The website was made to grab the audiences attention and make them attracted by it. Putting the links on the menu bar was successful as i took a lot of time to make them be spaced out and also ensured the links worked when the user clicked on them. To make this a successful task, my target was to attract the audience. The thing i done is researched other websites such as the Eastenders website, this helped me to give me ideas and enabled me to take some features and include similar to our website. The main strength i think was to input the background image, i done this fairly quick but took time to find the correct picture, I needed the picture to stand out as it is on the homepage of the website.




 Regarding the TV listing cover it was a difficult task to comprehend with as it took time to input images and place where suitable. One of my weaknesses in this task was to use Photoshop to crop around the characters so it can look like an quality TV front cover. I spent a lot of time on the front cover and by editing all the pictures but got there in the end. However, using a famous TV MAG as an example was difficult to follow as they had a lot of features which made their front cover stand out. I inserted a variety of shapes to represent the adverts on the front cover and also produced nice large headings.  I also had to choose appropriate colours so that it can stand out from other TV front covers. Overall the TV front cover was done successfully.

The trailer was done successful we planned it well and planned out the different strands and the characters. The time taken to film the trailer was a reasonable time but was filmed a couple times to make it to a successful stage. However, i thought our website was produced brilliantly and made to be a professional website. The way that we edited it and in putted the features such as text, shapes and images made to be appealing to the target group. One of our weaknesses is that we should allow more time when filming as, there times where we needed to rush things and film quickly to enable us to succeed. The main weakness is to make a reasonable plan and stick to it, this would have helped us and showed us what we need to do exactly and take it step by step.
